Paypal reports to the IRS at payments totaling $20,000 and with 200+ payments received in a year. If you don’t meet both of those criteria then PayPal doesn’t report. Personally I don’t report if PayPal doesn’t report. Every time I have cashed out I have received less than I put in originally. Even though I think technically I should report my cash out value I won’t because it seems weird to me to report it as income when I used my already taxed income to put into magic online and then just lost value before withdrawing.
@fsecco I mean come on. Two things that give you three mana could definitely be more different. Are there differences yes. But to say Black Lotus and Workshops couldn’t be more different is a laughably stupid comment. Workshops and ancestral recall is a more apt at completely diffenent. Workshops is a narrowly usable repeatable black lotus. Definitely different but still somewhat similar.
Loved as much as I've heard so far. I do think that you two underestimated Chandra, Torch of Defiance's power in your power rankings coming into Dominaria. However, I do think Chandra has lost most of it's usefulness now that its damage can't be redirected to planeswalkers with the plus one ability. I think Chandra unfortunately is now going to be cut from my Jeskai Mentor deck which is a shame because I just got a sweet custom emblem for her.
@geekyjackson maybe I should try streaming I play way to fast. Playing the wrong lands because I didn’t think about it is my forté on MTGO.
As is clicking the wrong land when fetching because I am to lazy to make the box bigger. I should probably pay more attention when using lands online...
I feel like Wizards has gotten a little careful when designing mechanics. Nowadays whenever they make a mistake it is a artifact that is too powerful (looking at you Walking Ballista) or it is a cost reduction speed too high (looking at you Khans delve cards).
I think to really freshen things up and make something completely new they would either need to open up mechanics to more powerful things or they would need to make a new kind of card type similar to when they made planeswalkers. Ether one of these things could really change things up.
@vaughnbros I am going to assume you are being trolly on purpose and not just ignorant. Oath is way more than just 7 cards different from other blue decks. The kill condition is completely different. Paradoxical Outcome decks are so much different than just 4 cards from Xerox decks. Are you kidding me. They play way more artifacts than a Xerox deck does. It closer to dark petition storm than Xerox. It just uses a different engine to get that storm count going.
@vaughnbros I get that. I'm not complaining about there being more than one type of workshops deck. I would rather the total shops number be higher and have there be a diverse style of shops decks as opposed to a lower number where every single one of them is ballista ravager shops.
@vaughnbros I don't think this is fair. Blue was so busted early on in magic's history there is no plausible way that you won't have blue being the dominate color with a huge representation. Unless you start banning instead of restricting it is impossible that Ancestral Recall and Time Walk decks won't be a large share of the meta game. However, there is a big difference in those "blue" decks. Oath is nothing like Grixis Walkers which is nothing like Mentor Control.
I think in a month or two I will finally have enough money saved up to get my first piece of power! I'm looking at you Black Lotus!!! I have posted before about the best order to get power and where to get it. Thanks for the advice everyone has given me.
Looking at my budget I think it will take me about 3 years to acquire all of the power to make a fully powered vintage deck. I know myself however and I am sure I will want to play sanctioned vintage before that 3 years is up. This leads me to my deck building question.
Which of the following is the least sub-optimal for a WUR Mentor/Dack/Jace deck
Playing with 3 on color moxes and shock lands instead of dual lands
Playing with only 1/2 on color moxes and the dual lands
Essentially once I have the Black Lotus, Time Walk, Ancestral Recall and Mox Sapphire what should I prioritize first when it comes to playing suboptimally - the remaining two moxes or appropriate dual lands.
My initial thought is the moxes are more important as there is no real substitute while the shock lands are at least bad substitutes. Thanks for your comments in advance!
