I mean, that's DDT without the graveyard requirements but you need to find artifacts. I guess if your target is timevault combos this is actually hugely powerful.

Are we calling this Dig Through Affinity or Affinity Through Time?

Even though Dig is probably the reference to delving, I think dig through affinity is the most accurate description.

I actually don't see this as playable. To get it to cost anything close to DTT, you need 4+ artifacts in play? And you're digging for more moxen usually? Wouldn't chaining POs just be better at that point? I think with the amount of draw/DTT/tinker blue has access to, this just becomes a worse/clunkier DTT at best and a complete garbage card at worst. Hell, Memory Deluge seems better than this in most cases, and I don't expect that to ever see vintage play.

This might be better than PO in a deck that doesn’t want to pick up its artifacts. Like a blue prison or skullclamp (tokens)

Could make use of Cookbook, which is something PO can’t

Seems like this could be alright as thoughtcast 9-12 in 8cast.

Its weird it doesn't say "affinity for artifacts" on it.

@john-cox They covered that a few years ago. It seems they wish to avoid using set specific keywords when that ability rarely appear in other sets to make it more accessible to newer players.

I think this card is made more for a Belcher shell with all the new blue flip lands. It's Dig 4-5 to get that Belcher asap.

This seems a lot more like an 8 cast card than a PO card to me especially the versions with thought monitor and artifact lands.

This is the archetype it would go in. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/vintage-8-cast#paper
