[UNF] Water Gun Ballon Game

Surprise! Some cards in the next Un set are officially legal in eternal formats (see here). They have not shown much yet, and even less that is relevant, but this caught my eye as a cheap token generator for a storm or xerox style deck. My guess is you would rather pay 2 for Pyromancer for 5 1/1s instead of 1 5/5, but being colorless and an artifact may have it's benefits as well.
Welcome to our brave new magic world everyone!

this is a bad preview render, like the commander card that was previewed as 'when a creature dies' rather than 'when a creature an opponent controls dies'. all the actual printed copies will have the little foil acorn that differentiates the eternal-legal parts of the set from the purely un-cards.

Not sure why you say that, there are preview cards both with and without the acorn logo. This was an Un-card in past sets but it looks like they are making it legal for eternal as it really does nothing that cannot be done in a normal magic game at this point. Nothing in that article made me believe this is a misrendering.

MaRo said it's an acorn card. either they printed the card wrong or issued an incorrect preview render. I think the latter is more likely, as it did just happen in the crimson vow commander decks with Kamber, The Plunderer.

Wow. They really need to figure out their sh#t if they want to keep printing 35 sets a year.

Can we talk a bit about the poor art direction and production of this card, even aside from the misprinted acorn symbol?
- No "0" on the card art, requiring the awkward reminder text to "use the bullseye" instead. The bullseye is nowhere near the rest of the number track. And it's not like the card was originally designed starting at 1, and had last-minute errata for power level reasons, since it's a reprint.
- Due to there being no "0" anywhere on the card, the card doesn't work as written: the reminder text is not a reminder, it's rules text.
- And the reminder text is confusing. "Or use the bullseye"---as opposed to what? It should have read "The bullseye is the zero" or something along those lines.
- Where is the opponent supposed to place their counter? On the same track on the right? Hope you brought two different colors of counters... Or on the left track? Which is not only missing 0, but also has the 1 and 2 completely occluded?
- Aren't "un" sets supposed to be all about wacky borders and art that leaks outside of the box (I dunno, to make room for a "0" for instance...?) Why is this one so boring?
-
I don’t think we should count on the art for assistance in executing the card effects.
-
No one could have Anticipate-d that @Protoaddict would post a reprint.

@reprint I mean, you can very actively take your high horse and shove it, until Maro posted a clarification that was on twitter and not on the official wizards channels this was entirely new to the format.
