This seems VERY similar to Torch of Defiance but 1 mana cheaper. Still has a way to make mana, has a way to deal damage to creatures, has a way to "draw" and has a big game winning emblem. This seems like slam dunk to me in Blood Moon lists, maybe replacing Torch in full or maybe sitting next to her since you can have both in play.

@protoaddict I love the design of this card but Vintage has gotten too fast and aggressive for card like this.

@moorebrother1 Granted it is probably out of fashion right now and meta specific, but mono red bloodmoon does occasionally pop its head up and steals an event where people were unprepared. This just seems like a no brainer to me in that list right?

The deal 1 point of damage and add a mana on this thing seem really relevant to me since you can T2/T3 play this, ping a Wrenn and Six to keep it in check and then bolt or REB a body on the table. The "draw" is notably less good but still relevant and is probably the place you just have to make the concession to in order for this to cost 3, and the ultimate still wins the game basically as much as torch.

@protoaddict I would like to believe that a red prison deck would be competitive in MH2 Vintage but I do think it is true. If you could hit a turn 1 Blood Moon on the play maybe, but you still have Ragavan and Dragon's Rage Channeler to deal with. There are so many other threats where making lands mountains does not help anymore.

I was a HUGE Blue Moon player and I love that arch-type but it has been dead for a few years now, and red prison is also dead in modern Vintage.

This card is a cool sideboard card or a one of in a RUG or Jeskai deck if you want this as your pet card but once it gets taken by a Ragavan, you will change your mind.

@moorebrother1 I think you're overstating how common DRC and Ragavan are in Vintage right now. Based on events over the last 30 days, at most 20% of the metagame includes one or more Ragavan, and it's a much lower percentage that plays DRC. Not to say that it shouldn't be a consideration, but "you can't play this card because of Ragavan" seems a bit overblown.

@revengeanceful I would never tell someone not to play fun cards. That's usually what I do but be prepared for the actual meta-game.

This card is just not going to do much in the current meta, but I would be happy to be proved wrong. There are a lot of ways to make this work in Vintage and I'll be very happy to see it played.

This walker seems to be suffering from classic card good deck bad syndrome. So if we can fix the second part the first flows naturally but I at least have no idea how to do that. It could almost slot into some jeskai type midrange lists if it was not so insistent on them being red cards but if wishes were fishes.

@moorebrother1 To be clear, I agree with your conclusion that the card is unlikely to see a lot of play, but I don't think it's because of Ragavan and DRC. I just don't think you can reliably play a 1RR card in basically any deck.
