I like this as an Oath target. You can get protection artifacts or creatures.

@moorebrother1 Is this better than the archon that keeps the things from being cast? This seems worse vs shops and about the same vs the STP blue decks.

@botvinik I think it's better than Archon of Valor's Reach against Shops if you're Oathing into it because it turns off Ravager/Ballista shenanigans and prevents them from damaging you by via attacks with anything they had onboard before Emissary came down. Against blue decks, it's probably about the same. The thing in Archon's favor is that it's more easily castable than Emissary, but I honestly don't know how much that matters.

I really like this card, especially since it is not legendary. I may try to play Show and Tell or re-animator with it. It really stops so much by giving you protection.

It doesn't beat bridge though so it is much worse against the golos/staxy builds of shops.

@botvinik is there something I am missing on this? It doesn’t say protection from cards of the chosen card type, just the chosen card type itself. If the chosen card type is creatures, I don’t see why it would give protection from creature cards only and not creature tokens as well. Tokens can and do have card types.

111.6. A token is subject to anything that affects permanents in general or that affects the token’s card type or subtype. A token isn’t a card (even if represented by a card that has a Magic back or that came from a Magic booster pack).

@bactgudz I think you're thinking of the wrong Bridge - Botvinik was referring to Ensnaring Bridge, not Bridge from Below. And I'm not sure that concern is too meaningful, but it is a consideration.

Lol ah yes thanks. More than that I was thinking of the wrong bridge and the wrong archon(blazing) in the comparison!

I have been testing this card in Oath and it is very good. Not sure if Oath is very good but the card is very good.

Like I said, this card is amazing and it just stops Shops and Bazaar decks but it is very hard to play Oath against blue decks right now.

I'll need to come back to this one for sure once I know how to attack the blue decks.
